Smencils

As a fundraiser, our leadership team is selling SMENCILS starting Tuesday, October 1rst!!  These are pencils/pens with erasers that smell yummy!  The smencils cost $2.00 and the pens cost $4.00.  If you would like your child to buy any of these,  put the money in a baggie with name and how many you want and slip this into the plastic part of the agenda PRETTY PLEASE!

1) Everyone should have an October calendar now! (coming soon Eli). 

2) Everyone was given a treat team schedule. First classroom celebration will on Halloween!            

3) Chicken fingers and veggies start next Tuesday. Pizza starts next Thursday.

4) Popcorn...$1.00 on Fridays. Please put in a clearly marked baggie/envelope in the plastic pouch of the agenda.

5)  CARING assembly: Thursday,October 3rd. Wear WESTERN gear (cowboy hats.etc). Assembly starts at 11:20. Come and watch Kaleb, Isla B, and June receive their awards.

6) Friday, October 4th is a PD Day. The students do not come to school (lucky dogs)!

7) October 18th: Book Orders are due online! Thank you for all the September Orders! The home reading books and various classroom games/puzzles etc come from the rewards I get when you order!  Great Christmas gifts!  Just shoot me a text on Remind or write a message in the agenda if it is a gift! I have even included a 'classroom wishlist' if you are looking for Christmas ideas :)

Character Awards

Each month at Nottawa, we celebrate students who display amazing character.  There are 10 character traits.  September's character trait is CARING.  We have selected 3 students from our class who have consistently demonstrated that they are CARING. Isla B, June, and Kaleb have huge hearts and are always willing to lend a hand or help someone who is sad or hurt.  Please join us Thursday, October 3rd at 11:20 where they will receive a character award at our monthly spirit assembly.

A few notes

1) We started our 'paperwork' today!  We are so impressed with what the students can do!  JKs came home with their letter 'S' sheet and the SKs came home with their 'see' sight word sheet.

2)Reading Folders also came today!  These plastic folders are not cheap so please take care of them.  I only want to see them on Day 1 please!  Get in the habit of sending in the reading folder and Library book on every Day 1.  This will start NEXT week (Tuesday). I will do my best to REMIND you the day before :) 




3) Terry Fox Run is Thursday, September 26th 2:00-3:00 pm. Our school has set a few goals and there are fun incentives such as a pizza party for the class who raises the most money!  YUM! Please consider donating online on Nottawa's Cash online or sending a donation into our classroom.  Thank you so much for your support, we have all been affected by cancer.
